Beautiful day for a beautiful family

Fort Worth family photographers picture of boy with his dad outdoors
Fort Worth photography family picture of mom with her daughter on location
Well, my wishes came true! Nice weather rolled back into the Fort Worth area just in time for this family's photo session. We initially planned a studio portrait session but decided at the last minute to photograph outside since our weather cooperated! I can't tell you how easy and fun photography was with this family...the kids were great for putting up with my silliness and tickles! Mom and Dad did a great job dressing the whole family...they definitely made the "do" dress list and their outfits worked so great at our location. I'm almost finished proofing your session but I did promise a sneak peek ...here you go!

And Mom says...

Dear Cathy,

I am speechless! Narrowing down is going to be very difficult. The photos are wonderful.

Thanks for a very special day! - A. M.

Let me introduce my framer (and friend)...

I have known Vicki since we were 12...so let's just say its been a few years. After many years of moving around with her pro athlete husband, they are now retired and resettled in the Fort Worth area. Many children and grandchildren later, Vicki decided to rep for Creative Memories when they introduced their new framing product last year. After all, she herself has a ton of portraits that needed professional framing! I ordered my So Ho collection (a post back a few pages) and I couldn't be more thrilled with them! I was very in awe of the packaging - its always a bit nerve wracking shipping something with glass but these came so securely packaged and the work Creative Memories did was outstanding. They are a company that I am proud to use for my framing and can highly recommend. Vicki can be reached via the link I have under "Favorite Places" if you're interested in speaking with her...she will come to your home and help you measure walls and pick out mats and frames. That always makes it easier to visual how your finished portraits will look!

And let me just say...Vicki is a great friend, but if I wasn't in love with the product I wouldn't be sharing it here!

Here's a few of the portraits I did for her last year and their finished framing. I especially love the hand shot (5 generations) with the quote included in the mat.

A little L-O-V-E on a dreary day

I'm sure I'm not the only one...ready for this cold front to go on its way! I'd never make it England that's for sure...can't handle this bleak, gray, cold days!

So, to give us all a little lift, here's an early Valentine's Day treat.

A little shabby, a little chic and a new website!

In a few weeks I'm doing my first Shabby Chic Limited Edition and it is going to be awesome! One of my longtime, great customers is hosting it in her vintage home, the perfect backdrop! It gave me an excuse to go shopping for some cool shabby chic furniture and props to use, always a fun thing to do! Once the sessions are done you know I'll be posting some here on the blog so stay tuned!

Officially today, I have a new website! While I've loved my other, it was time for a change! My new design and hosting company has been great to work with and my new site has tons more galleries and text sections. And in case you didn't notice, we're sporting a new 'do here on the blog too! Just like a woman, always redecorating ha ha!

I'm Ready for My Closeup

I had a blast this past weekend doing these three kids headshots! All are into local theatre and plan to attend colleges with great theatre programs. Maybe someday I can say I knew them when!

I don't do a lot of high school senior sessions (but plan on doing more in '08) so it was fun working with teenagers, I really enjoyed it! I acted pretty goofy with them so hopefully I didn't scar them for life. Anyway, here's a few that were among my favorites....I just posted their gallery today so they haven't even seen them yet.

Beautiful Newborn

I got to start my New Year off with a fun portrait session with a little tax deduction...he was born just in the nick of time in '07 - gotta love that! I was amazed at how much hair he already had. He was a very easygoing and good natured little guy...he did give us a little "sprinkle" when the colder air hit him after we undressed him for his session. Always be prepared with boys! Dad, amazingly enough, didn't get sprinkled once which is the norm! I love this picture and couldn't wait to show it off to them...there are so many great ones from the photo session and I'm almost finished editing!

Meet Dixie!

Okay, I love dogs (yes, I'm crazy...I own 4!). Who can resist an adorable puppy??? I got to meet and photograph Dixie yesterday and fell in love. She is a 10 week old Cairn Terrier (think Toto). She is a terrier thru and thru. She was so obedient though...she did everything I wanted for photos. She may have a future in modeling! I photographed her by herself

and with her new best friend. So sweet...can I have another puppy? They're like potato chips, you can never stop....
